MWC Barcelona is an annual trade fair organized by the GSMA dedicated to the mobile communications industry. The event is held at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, usually in February or early March.
Mobile World Congress is the world’s largest gathering for the mobile industry, where some of the world’s biggest electronics players and telecommunications companies showcase their latest innovations, hence what is referred to as the world’s largest and most influential mobile technology ecosystem.
In this event, which took place for the 36th time this year, there were more than 88,500 participants, 56% of whom came from sectors close to the mobile ecosystem. Participants included companies such as Samsung, IBM, HTC, LG, Huawei, Vodafone or Telefónica. New smartphones, the future of 5G and artificial intelligence were some of the main themes.
We took part in MWC for the first time this year as Pnetworks and hosted our guests at our booth in Hall 5. The production of Switch, Wi-Fi and SDWAN products of Pnetworks, which have proven their success in the Turkish market, was presented to the industry professionals from all over the world.
On the first day of the fair, the invitation and certificate of appreciation were conveyed to our sales director Orçun Yeşilyurt by the Barcelona Consul General Selen Evcit. On the second day, General Manager Ömer Ragıp Özkan made a Pnetworks presentation to a group of companies and interested parties at the French Pavilion.
Our General Manager Ömer Ragıp Özkan said the following about our participation in MWC Barcelona: “Participation in the Mobile World Congress was an important step in meeting global customers. This participation was an important opportunity for us to promote the Pnetworks brand and products in Europe. Also, We had the opportunity to show the position of Pnetworks in the Turkish technology sector and the high quality of its products. We held valuable meetings that will bear fruit next season.”
During the fair, we held many promotional and business meetings in pavilions of different countries. We visited the pavilions of Eastern, Northwest and Northern European countries to expand our activities. Our participation in MWC has created an important opportunity to find partners in both the European network and the Asia-Africa network, expand the commercial network and market our products in the European region.
And of course, we took time to walk around and explore the “fun” aspects of this event.
